The retrofit

It works with the meters already in the ground.

If a mechanical meter has a compatible magnetic pulse output, the Smarta interface fits straight onto it. From then on, every pulse the meter produces arrives in Smarta Estate as a reading.

An installer fits the interface, checks the signal and confirms the first reading. You can start with one section of the estate and connect the rest later.

No gateway needed

Daily or hourly readings travel over the Sigfox network, so there is no private estate network to build or maintain.

Leak and burst alerts

Continuous flow, pipe bursts and unusually high usage can raise an alert.

A field-replaceable battery and IP68 enclosure keep ongoing maintenance low.

Sigfox reaches across Africa, with availability varying by location and site conditions. Meter compatibility and coverage are confirmed during a site assessment. What is Smarta Estate?

Smarta Estate is a remote water-metering and water-management platform for residential estates. It brings meter readings, leak and burst alerts, consumption analytics, billing, invoices and resident access into one system.

Do we need to replace our existing water meters?

Not usually. A Smarta interface can be fitted to a compatible mechanical meter with a magnetic pulse output. Compatibility is confirmed during a site assessment; the standard retrofit is designed for compatible 15 mm and 20 mm domestic water meters.

Does the estate need to install a gateway or manage SIM cards?

No. Readings travel over the Sigfox network, so the estate does not need to build a private radio network, install a gateway or manage a SIM card for each meter. Coverage and site conditions are checked before installation.

How often can Smarta Estate collect readings?

Compatible devices can report daily or hourly. The right interval depends on the estate’s monitoring needs, local coverage and the preferred balance between reporting frequency and battery life.

Can residents see their own water usage and invoices?

Yes. Residents can use a secure portal to view their own consumption, invoices and payment history, while estate managers, finance teams and maintenance staff receive access appropriate to their roles.
